Remote Start
I'm in Fairbanks and have been installing mobile electronics for 12 years now. I would recommend Auto Trim Design or Street Sounds. Both companies solder all connections and warranty their products and installations as long as you own the vehicle. Don't let you "buddy" install it for you. At -50 below the last thing you want is some electrical problem to strand you somewhere. Both companies use DEI products. Astrostart at Auto Trim and Viper at Street Sounds. DO NOT let someone use T-Taps or Scotch Locks. I have worked at Auto Trim Design and have know the owner personally most of my life. Great guy. I also know the owners of Street Sounds and they are very reputable as well. Good luck bud. Thanks for serving our country!
Travis at www.kcautosound.com all the way. In the past four years I've installed almost 30 systems from him for friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. On top of that many a stereo or other equipment from him as well. Any of us on here can say that he may not be the cheapest but you pay for quality product with quality customer service to back it up. He's a straight up honest guy that not only sells equipment but also installs all day long locally in Kansas City with over 18 years experience in the biz. Sometimes I like to just call call him to pick his brain about something and if he doesn't know the answer he is sure to find out for me.
Travis's installation instructions have been designed by feedback from first time installer/customers like us. They give you pictures of how to take you truck apart as well as wire locations and what colors to connect to. He even tells you what readings you will get on a volt meter or test light.
KC Autosound used to be all about Code Alarm systems but he has started to introduce other manufacturers into the lineup from AutoPage, Compustar, Python and Autostart. All systems bring their own thing to the table. I'm really liking the Autostart AS-3742 system with the 2way transmitter and 3000 foot range. I've installed two of them now and think it might be the next one if we get a new vehicle. I would suggest you contact Travis either by email (travis @ kcautosound.com) or phone (816)868-2481 and he can answer any question you throw at him.

hey articcold gots n e pics of ur truck?? cuz i seen this bad *** one running around town.. and it had a f150online.com sticker on it.. just wondering who it was!! but thanks for the advice onthe local shops!!! im run in there sometime later next week!!
I do have some pics. I haven't messed around too much on this site so I'll have to figure out how to post them. It wasn't my truck. I don't have any stickers on mine. I have an 07 Screw, black, tinted windows, lowered with Roush kit. I run my stock wheels in the winter. Billet upper and lower grille, Supercharged. Its basically a Stage 3 Roush. Just don't have the cluster or body kit. I installed all the stuff when the truck was new. I'll tell you what, the seats are a pain in the butt. But I now have heated seats!
