Cb antenna's?

Looking to get a cb, and antenna for my truck to mount on the tool box. Anyone got any good suggestions where to find one; stores, online, etc... thanks!

i would recommend the firestik antennas in either the 3 ft for the 4ft versions with a good quality mount and cable

many people also run a high end cobra, uniden or if you have the money even a galaxy cb radio

here is a website where you can get just about everything you need for a decent price

That's a great website!

For what you're wanting, a Firestik sounds like what you're looking for. And when you purchase a CB, make sure they peak & tune it for you.

if you dont have any kind of topper or cover on your bed i would suggest go to that website i listed above and pick out any of the stake hole mounts and put them on ur bed

or if you have a tool box you can get the side/vertical mounts and put it on the toolbox

there is also a mount on the website that is just for the f150 that mounts on the drivers fender between the hood and fender and then mounts on there

my gfs dad also has a mag mount on the hood of his older chevy

hope that helps

I've used the K40, firestick, and solarcon ant. From my experience the firestick works very well. I would go with it or the solarcon. It is about the same as a firestick but the tip slides in and out instead of tightening or listening a screw.

well, i wanted the BEST antenna i could get, so i bought a 102" whip and mounted it to he back of my tool box. Not everybody's preference, but I LOVE the look of it. And it is said to be the best antenna you can get for a cb as far as range and what not

Ehh... Not from my experience. I had one on my old truck. Didn't work that well and it started to look obnoxious to me... Makes trucks look like remote controlled toy cars.

Maybe if it's amplified (?)... You can't tune an 8' whip itself like you can a K40, Firestik, ect.

I bought the whip. Love the look of it and I don't like the magnetic mounts that go on the roof. Bought my antenna at a local shop. Here's my truck with the whip.

The 102" whip is the best antenna you can get IF you can deal with the height. If your system is set up correctly you will not need to tune the whip either, but if you do, there are several ways to tune a 102" whip.
