Alarm / Remote Start recommendations?

I just purchased a new 08 FX4 supercrew. I would like to install a alarm/remote start. Any recomendations on what and where to buy? I will do the install myself, I dont trust the fools at the dealership or CC/BB. I have installed head units, speakers, amp in the past but this will be my first alarm. I have read about some sites including a prewired harness for your specific vehicle, and this would be great if I could find that. Thanks!

HEY! Dont just get on these forums and bash CCity people. Because I will prolly be one of your better sources of info.

I like the new DEI's...

And look I dont recommend doing it yourself unless you have a complete understanding of switches, I/O's, relays and testing wires. One wrong wire with a alarm and you can have a 40K piece of scrap.

Unless you work in the Corpus Christi BB or CC I wasnt bashing you. I have dealt with these people over the years and they deserve the bashing. Sorry.

I am competent with a multimeter and soldering, not worried about the install at all. Im a computer engineer, if I cant install a simple alarm Im in trouble lol. Im just looking for a good alarm I can buy online, I will look into the DEI's thanks.

My roomate from college used to work at Best Buy (he is good, so they aren't all bad) and he did my Viper 791. My dad with his masters in electrical engineering from Purdue said it would take him twice as long to install it after he saw the directions.

Im sure it will take me a fair bit of time, but I have alot of spare time on the weekends and I enjoy little projects like this. I apologize if I offended anyone with my BB/CC comment. I can only speak to the local stores because thats all Ive been to. After a couple of bad experiences I tend to loose faith in them, and would just rather do it myself. Hell, Im sure the jokers that screwed me years ago arent even working there anymore, but like I said I enjoy these projects. Im sure there are tons of great installers at CC/BB or they wouldnt be in the install buisness anymore.
