getting a toolbox

tommorow im going to go pick up a silver diamondplate aluminum toolbox for 75. i want it black so im going to sand it and cover it with duplicolor's truck bed coating. Its a above the rails type but i dont know how to mount it. i assume its just holes through the rail with two bolts with nuts per side? Any other ideas for making it black?(my other thought was just primer and flat black)

so how should i mount this thing? i found these http://www.buyautotruckaccessories.c...-mounting-kit/
but im not totaly sure how they work.
i think my other option is to just drill two holes through the box and rails and put a bolt, washer, and nut through it...am i missing anything?

no drilling a hole in the side of your truck is a horrible idea.

get 2 jay hooks (the bigger the better) and drop them into the mounting holes in the rear of the bed.

drill 2 holes, one on each side of the box. on the surface that sits on the bed rails. then feed the threaded end of the J hook through the hole that you drilled.

then bolt them down.

i apologize that this is such a horrible explination but its the best i could do.

bottom line DO NOT drill into the bed unless its a POS beater that you want to let rust.

its definately not a beater truck...so you mean the bed stake holes at the front corner of the bed for the front? and j's 4 the back that hook under the lip of the bed?

here i found an artical that should help you out.

http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_par...271276,00.html

just make sure you have somthing in between the tool box and the bed so it doesnt scratch and you end up with rust

got the shorter j hooks and mounted it all up...spent the rest of the day sanding and priming...its about 1/3 done..its a pain in the butt to get between the little bumps of diamond plate...but even the primer sections look alot better...im going to keep sanding tommorow and hopefully ill be able to post up some pics of it all primered tommorow night.
