Question Remote Start Issue

Hi All, I just installed the Power Code remote start system 100 in my 07 and the system works fine until the truck sits for 2 hours or more - then there is no response for the remote start. Once I drive it and park it again, it will remote start until it sits for 2 hours again ---- any ideas???

Huh... I put my DEI in. Never had a problem. Make sure you grabbed the correct wires. Sounds like when a computer (prolly BCM or your unit) shuts down your wire dies... double check.

Mine does the same thing. Let me know if you get an answer. The dealership has no idea what's wrong.

When you try to remote start it does the light on the top of the dash flash real quick.

Yes the top light blinks very fast and there is power to the truck meaning the fan and all the lights come on. I can not get it to go off until I press the brake.

Your key bypass needs to be re-programmed again. Follow these and see if it fixes it. If not then you may need a new bypass.

YOU MUST HAVE TWO KEYS FOR PROGRAMMING. MAX 5 SECONDS INTERVALS BETWEEN EACH STEP
Here are the steps to programming your module. YOU MUST BE VERY QUICK WITH THESE STEPS!!!!
1. Insert the first key into the ignition, turn the key to “ON” and leave on till the light on the module goes out.
2. Insert the second key into the ignition, turn the key to “ON” and leave on till the light on the module goes out.
3. When the light goes out REMOVE your key and then remote start the vehicle by holding the BLUE button for 3 seconds.

If it's not the key that needs Re-programing.......
YOU CAN TRY THIS........
I put one in my truck (Clifford Matrix 50.5) and had the same problem(it would work right after starting with a key...hour later nuthin....light flash etc....). So, for ****s n giggles...I put the loop for the transponder in FRONT of the factory plastic loop. When you pop the rubber back in it holds it there secure. Not a single no-start since i switched it. If I remember right, my install manual for the by-pass module said to put it behind the factory one, so i did. Apparently this should be changed. HOPE THIS HELPS.

Thanks for the help. It was the key bypass unit that was broken. Ford got a new one and fixed it first try. FYI I was told by the tech that Fords remote start/alarm system is made by Audiovox. Just some info I thought I would share.

Code Alarm quite a few years ago was purchased by Audiovox but is still a company in itself. They manufacturer their own products but they have been taken over by Audiovox. DEI (Directed Electronics) filed lawsuit for copyright infringement on the "Code-Hopping" technology years ago and won the suit. Ever since then Code Alarm was struggling and had to file for bankruptcy and Audiovox came to the rescue. DEI is a very strong company and a bulldog in the industry, killing or buying up all it's competitors.
