Question After market guages

Hey guys

I am looking at putting an after market trans temp guage in my truck. My question is should I purchase a mechanical one or an electrical one?

Thanks for the help.

mechanical tend to be more reliable, but come with a pretty bulky cord that can be a bitch to install, electric are alot easier to install, but they have been known to be a bit off, iv run electric before and iv never had a problem with them

As was just said. Mechanical is more accurate and you dont have to worry about sensors going bad. But if your not careful how you run it you can also create leaks. Ive always used electric gauges as they are close enough for me, im not doing anything extreme. And they are lot easier to run the wires and hook up.
