Hello everyone, please let me know if anyone has added cargo lights to there truck. I don't have them on my truck, just an plain red brake light. I want to add the cargo lights to it, but I don't see and wires for the two white lights under the red lens. Anyone knows anything about this ? Please help. Foots.

The cargo lights are wired to the dome light. It should be fairly easy to run your own wires.

look for a used one with the wire harness it plugs in near the dome light.
you will have to loosen the head liner to get to it about a 15 min job

Question

Does anyone know the location and color of the dome light wire? I'd like to tap into it for a cargo light in my ARE shell but I'd rather tap in by the door or underhood. Thanks. Y2K SC lariat 4x4

Cool

foots:

You don't mention the year of your truck.

For a 1999 truck, Ford offers a conversion kit just for this purpose. Part #XL3Z13A613AA. It operates just like an XLT. It comes complete with the lenses and wiring harness. Cost is $45.00 Just take the part number to your Ford Parts Department and they can order one for you.
