Stull Billet Grill Installation Tips Sought for a '99
I just purchased a Stull billet grill for my '99 F150. I've done a search here and found mostly installation tips for 97 and 98 models. Since mine is a 99, I don't have to chisel or cut the stock grill's mounting tabs. The 99 is built a bit differently.
What I'm looking for here is installation tips from anyone who's installed a Stull on their 99. I've actually looked closely at my stock grill and found that it's a larger integral part of the front facia than I first thought it would be.
Here's a pic of the type of grill I now have:
I can't wait til the new Stull arrives!
I'm mostly concerned about how I go about "cutting out" the stock grill. So if anyone can offer some tips in advance, I'd appreciate it!
Also, if I have to deal with those "push tabs" that are located at the very bottom of the front facia, what's the best method to remove and reinstall these?
Thanks...

Duck:
The installation of a Trenz or Stull should be the same.
First: Remove the push tabs that hold the bottom of the grill shell in place. A flathead screwdriver and a rag(protect the paint) works best. Take your time. Remove the grill shell. You'll have to push the original grill out. The tabs will simply break off, no cutting.
You don't have to remove the headlights, just the corner lights.
When you install the new grill, lay it face down and center it. Don't use too much pressure when you rivit it in place(USE RIVITS, not bolts/screws). You don't want to distort the shape of the shell.
When you reinstall, you'll notice slotted tabs that have to be pushed back in to hold to the bottom. If they're still attached to the truck, remove them and attach them to the grill shell. You'll have to push hard to get it back in place.
This will all make sense once you start.
Good Luck!

Woooo Hoooo! Nice Truck TampaBayLightning!! Beautiful...absolutely beautiful...
Thanks for the install tips. I think you're right, it should make sense once I get started. I'm pretty good at working on things so I don't anticipate any real problems. I just want to start developing my "plan of attack" before the new Stull arrives. That should allow me less work time and more drive time
Thanks again for the suggestion!
