jld58, I used a hair drier which made them come off pretty easily and there was no damage to the paint. I then used a little WD40 to get off the left over sticky stuff. My factory ones like yours became damaged after only a couple of months, thats why I decided to make the aluminum ones. The aluminum ones that I am selling are held on with automotive grade double face tape and are not showing any signs of coming loose.

I ordered these from Darin and liked them, so I thought I'd bring them up again.

The ones I received three weeks ago did not have rounded edges and the tape supplied came loose the next day and I replaced it with the 3M Emblem Tape from Wal-mart. I still think it's worth $10 though, looks nice.

all4chem, Sorry I didn't realize you wanted the edges rounded. The tape on my truck has held up for months. Did the tape come off the truck or the guards?

Cool

I am happy with the plates, I just assumed the corners would be rounded from your website.

The tape came apart from the door, I just cut the emblem tape to cover the whole inner surface of the plate. I didn't need to use any solvents (WD-40 or the like) as the plastic ones peeled right off, maybe the humidity here didn't let the tape stick. They didn't fall off, just came up on then ends.

I would recommend them to anyone as I think they look a LOT better than the plastic and are very functional. I hope you are still willing to make them for others.

Thanks again Darin.
