Here is a great little item for telling when to clean (or change) that filter.

This filter minder thing has been standard on GM trucks for years now, but I don't think it works that well though. I've seen some pretty clogged up filters, and it still said the filter was okay.

Yes I think they put them on the Superduty Deisels but I do not know how well they work. If the rubber gromet that fastens them into the box was not tight (old, cracked, etc) they wouldn't work at all. I assume they might wear out eventually. I am going to try one and see.
