i went to 2 autozones.. both tried clearing but couldnt due to the fact they didnt have canobd2 readers.. and didnt know what can was... they just said they only could do it if i replaced something blah blah so i told them i put a new intake on and they had no problem doing it.

but ive been noticing that my truck has been throwing a lean code still if i hit WOT a lot.. no check engine light, just pending.. i think its my exhaust that is causing it myself and think it should be cleared up with the xcal2.. i hope.

I think around Oct 8th or 9th... Last I checked, they said there would be a slight delay because of SEMA. Which is understandable, I just want to get it here...

The autozone thing still bugs me, they said they would get fined it they cleared a code... (no only if you get caught... :-) )

I will let you know when my xcal2 gets here.

How many altogether have had a CEL problem with the AF1? Are we up to a dozen or so by now? I’m glad I never had that problem because I’d be freaking out

I had the AF1 installed for 3 weeks before the Xcal2 was installed. Like I said, no CEL's. Just to clear that up.

I also have the build date of 10/03 and my Lariat Screw 4x4 was throwing CELs. The only way I could fix the issue was drive time as per Mike T's post in another forum. I have since upgraded my TP XCAL to a XCAL2 and Mike has corrected the issue entirely.

drive time isnt fixing mine.. its been a month and a half now.. and i'll throw a cel with a couple drive cycles if i hit WOT enough.

I have over 5,000 miles on my AF1 and had no issues. Today I threw a CEL and checked it with the XCAL2. Sure enough the dreaded P0174 Lean code.

I will be talking to TP in the morning. This is not what I wanted to see at all.

By the way, my CEL was not during a WOT episode. It occured in stop and go traffic.

I finally got my Xcal2 friday, no more cel. Cleared everything up so far. Which is good because I'm still due an inspection.

As far as the AF1 throwing cel's I think is the nature of the beast with an early 2004, seems those of us discussing this have a build date in 03.

As far as the AF1 being loud, mine was extremely loud. I had some very strange harmonics going on during acceleration, kept me from really putting my foot into it. Once I reprogrammed with the Xcal2, I was shocked at the smoothness at which everything ran. The loud drone with the AF1 disappeared completely, funny a buddy of mine that is a chevy guy was impressed, he thought it sounded like a Cobra Mustang now... He also made comments on how great it ran vs stock.

Rawzon, the Xcal2 will fix your problem...

My build date was 9-03 and never had a CEL. I wonder if my CEL light even works?

Are you reprogrammed with Xcal2? what I meant was it seems those running AF1 with stock programming. Of course there are always exceptions to the rule... Kind of like the whole mileage thing, some of us get 13 mpg others 18 mpg... I know we have talked before about this, but I've slept since then...
