Electric Tailgate Lock

Anybody found or know where to find a good electric tailgate lock? I bought one from an undisclosed source, but it is just a hollow s/s dow that moves across the inside of the handle, easily bypassed by a hard tug on the handle. I need one that actually disables the key tumbler.

www.jcwhitney.com. It's made by Pop-Lock. I've had mine in for about 4 years now with no problems.

edit: Mine's not the same as yours.... Just noticed the year. Sorry

I see that one for my '05 does it actually turn the key tumbler disabling the handle like the actual key would or does it just put a stop across the handle inside the tailgate preventing the handle from being lifted up.

Joe - mine did the same thing until I modified it. If your lock is the same as mine, it is mounted to a thin piece of aluminum. When you pull up on the handle hard, the aluminum mounting plate moves and allows the tailgate handle to open. What I did was screw a piece of wood to the mounting plate which fills the gap between the mounting plate and the tailgate. This kept the plate from "flexing" and solved the problem of the tailgate handle working when locked.
