Post Vortech and a manual trans

Has anyone installed a vortech charger in their truck with a manual transmission. If so did the clutch assembly need to be changed or modified to accept the additional horse power? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

NO NO NO No
You have a Mazda\Ranger tranny.
You will strip gears/burn up clutch.
Note much lower towing with manual tranny.

I certainly don't think it would be advisable, as Ford doesn't think the manual transmission is up to the torque of the stock 5.4 liter, so it really wouldn't hold up w/ a supercharged engine.

Has Ford made any statements saying the reason the manual transmission doesn't have the 5.4L as an option is because of the HP difference?

I'm asking because I have also heard from several different people the reason is because of Federal emissions laws.

Note: the F250s have the manual transmission option (HD) and also have different emissions laws.

If anyone knows of anything documented by Ford regarding the reason(s), please let me know.

To All:

O.K. So knowing that the standard manual may not be able to handle the horses what about after market. Centerforce at this time doesn't offer anthing that would be worth my time to throw in. I wish that the would offer a stage 2 kit. Does anyone else offer something similar?
