Is this better

The link works fine. Just about any cotton gauze filter will flow better then your stock paper filter. The thing I would be concerned with is the fact that is only $.88, and you get what you pay for. If you want a good filter that will out flow your stock go with a jet foam filter or a k&n. I hear the foam works better at catching the small dust partials then k&n, and flows about the same.

id be worried about fitment...

but if it does fit it looks like it would work well in a stock airbox. with that open front, it looks like the air would pass more directly into it. as long as that mesh would do a good job of actual filtration. i think the carbon refers to that little carbon fiber colored ring at the top(what a joke )

id say that if it was made by a respectable company id get it, but if its just some generic piece of crap id say forget it and go with a K&N

The front of the filter is not open it's just the color of the top of it.
