How to clean air force 1 filter?
How to clean air force 1 filter?
What is the proper way to care for your air force one intake air filter? Going to clean when my oil change comes up in about a month. I just want to make sure I do it right. Thanks.
Cleaning kit...
Hi.
- Go to your friendly neighborhood auto parts store.
- Buy a K&N filter cleaning kit.
- Follow the instructions included in the kit precisely.
- ***DO NOT OVER-OIL the filter !!! ***
cheers

Hi Bonefish,
MGDfan is exactly right - you can use the K&N "recharger" kit which can in some cases be found at a local auto parts store.
However, that won't get you the special blue-colored oil that Air Force One uses, that will usually get you the red-colored stuff. That's OK, but if you want the correct blue color, we carry those cleaning & re-oiling kits specifically for the Air Force One's blue air filter element in stock - just FYI.
The bottom line is yes, you can use the K&N stuff if you don't mind the air filter element being red instead of Air Force One's blue, and that will work just fine.
MGDfan made another good point too, don't over-oil the air filter element. The color dye in that oil is there to let you know where you do and do not have oil on the filter - so as soon as you have some color on a given area on the filter, STOP oiling it there.
If you have any further questions on this, please feel free to give us a call, & good luck!
