Question Advice on the A.R.E LSII cover

Hello All,
I am considering purchasing a hard cap for my 05 Screw. I 've been looking at the A.R.E LS II version for its' nice cosmetic appearance. Do any one have this type of cover? If so, would you recommend it and what is the going price? Maybe send me some pics.

Ray

Hi Ray,

I put one of these on my '04. It's a really nice cover. The paint matches the factory paint perfectly. If you're going to do a lot of hauling you may want something else. Haven't tried to remove it yet though, so I don't know how much of a pain it will be to put it back on. I got mine with the carpeted liner and electric lock for around $900. You might be able to shop around and find them cheaper. You can see some pics of mine in my gallery. Also, look at the ARE website and see if they still have the coupon for the free lock kit.

Kinda off topic, but my vote is for an undercover if you plan on actually using the bed for any other reason than just have a huge trunk. It's stronger than the fiberglass, more than 1/2 the weight and nearly 1/2 the price.

Hey D how much for the cover. I think I am going to get that one. Have you had any leaks with it?

Thanks

I just called around here and they wanted $619 plus they wanted me to pay the shipping for the company to ship it to them WTF.

No leaks. It's got a great seal. I haven't even been able to get water through with a direct blast from the hose.

Prices vary, most folks getting them at a local dealer for $550-600 installed (no shipping). A few folks have gotten it cheaper, albiet not much.

Good luck, you'll love this cover!

JDaddy, I don't know where you are in wisconsin but browns of two rivers lists that top for 559.00 plus 50.00 shipping in their catalog. Don't know if they charge shipping if you pick it up.

I have the LS11 and I've been happy with it, no problems what-so-ever.
Looks good, keeps the water and dust out, and keeps your stuff secure.

I bought mine from a shop just outside Syracuse, NY and paid $700 and something (Can't remember exactly now)

If you go to the ARE website, they have a coupon on there for $20 off (You have to print it off)

Here's a few pics:

Undercovers are nice, but they only have a 3 year warranty and don't match the paint.

A.R.E. covers are nice, but they are harder to remove, weigh more, and cost more.

Around my area Undercovers are $500 installed.

A.R.E. is now offering $50 off coupon on their website.

A.R.E. offers 2 covers for the '04-'05 F150 5.5' and 6.5' bed. They are the LSX and the LSII. The LSX is an upgrade with different trim edge and a carpet liner underneath standard.

You can't see the LSX on the A.R.E. website and no one knows much about them, but they can be ordered from your A.R.E. dealer.
