k & n FIPK install

A friend of mine just purchased this Intake kit. He wanted to take it to pep boys or some place to have it installed. I told him no cause he would raped on price.

I have installed many of Intakes on cars like mine. I don't think we would have a problem.

However i would like to know if there are any pictures that are color or instrucions that maybe I could look at.

I have been looking for an online install guide with color pictures?

Has anyone hear ever installed this Intake? any advice? rating 1-10 of difficulty. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Instructions are good so it should be easy for you. About a -4 on the difficulty scale..

It's easy to install (I just installed one a couple of weeks ago). All in all, the hardest part of the install was getting the stupid little silicon sleeves on the K&N inlet runner (tube). The one I got was a bargain (Model 57-2514-4 for $160). It was old stock and the installation instructions had an error in it regarding the installation of the air bypass and crank case vents (for the 4.6L, ONLY)—The photographs did not match the text. The instructions off of the K&N website do not have this error.

On thing to remember, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. This is to insure that the engine management computer resets its adaptive settings and starts a-fresh with the default values. There has been reports of rough idling, stalls and generally poor performance that were quickly fixed with a disconnecting of the battery.

Also, the instructions for the K&N FIPK and the 77 Series can be found on the K&N Website.

77 series

I installed the 77 series a couple of weeks ago and it was really easy. The instructions go step by step from taking the old one off to putting the new one on. I can also tell a big difference in throttle response on mine now. I love the intake!
