Thanks!!
wakejohnk, I bought mine from FordPartsOnline.com - they offer a 20% discount of list so this is probably cheaper than buying from your local Ford dealer (they are a Ford dealer down in Texas). You will need two parts. The keypad, which I think the part number is YL3Z 14A626 CA ($61.48) and the handle, I think the part number is XL1Z 7822405 DAC ($45.32). You'll need your paint code to order the handle since it comes painted to match your truck. They were very helpful and got the order out quick. By the way, you already have all the wiring you need in the door. Just plug and play (after you program your code or use the permanent one that comes with your truck). Good luck, hope this helps.

Thanks Rogone, I'll send them an email!

Does typing in the correct code turn off the alarm?

Can't speak to the alarm question personaly. All the posts on the forum seem to indicate that it won't. My Ford dealer told me that he thought it should but this doesn't seem to go with what the people on this forum have found out. He hasn't been right about a number of other things so I would go with what you get here. I am getting an aftermarket alarm and remote start installed Saturday and I have been told by the installer that while my keypad will unlock the door if I open it the alarm will go off. But thats an aftermarket alarm and not the Ford alarm. I thought about the Ford alarm but in looking at the posts on this forum they don't look to be very good. Good luck and have a happy new year.

Thanks again, I'll keep looking until I get the chance to try it myself.
BTW, I purchased the ford alarm off ebay and installed it myself. While it only has about eight features that you can toggel on and off, I'm quite happy.
Keep us posted on what you purchased and the results.

I personally spoke with one of the engineers at CodeAlarm (makers of the Ford PowerCode systems). He told me that the PowerCode systems are fully compatible with the stock system and should allow you to enable/disable the alarm from the exterior door keypad.

What happens is that the second you press the keypad, the interior lights come on and that triggers the alarm. What you need to do is enable the "Entry delay" option on your PowerCode system and possibly the "Factory RKE system does not arm alarm" option. This should fix the problem. As for how to enable these options, its dependent on which package you purchased (Remote Start/VSS/RKE or Delexue RKE/VSS or VSS, etc). Check your manual (2W7Z-16A901-AA)

Learn a lot here on this forum, this is great! We were thinking of putting the keyless pad on our Ford 150, but I am wondering how well it would stick, stay, whatever. Now I am wondering if it would grow hands and walk off.........you got me thinking

Remote vs Wired

I believe the way they work is as follows:

The wireless keypad mimics the remote fob and controls the alarm.

The wired keypad mimics a key or inside doorlock button and does not disable the alarm.

The only delay the shop said I had was a few seconds to put in the code before the alarm gos off. powercallsirens emailed me this reply (Unfortunately when you hit any button on the keypad it turns the interior light on, which triggers the alarm system. There is that small delay to give you time to type your code in, but the goal of that system is to hit the unlock on your remote to disarm the system. You cannot disable to function of the keypad, that would totally make the system not work. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.) but its nice if someone is punching your pad to fine a code and it go's off on them, lot of the time it will not go off for few sec after I use the key pad,put other times it gos off when I use the key pad.I read on one of the forms you could disable the alarm with the key pad if it was wired up right.

I just picked up the wireless keypad on Ebay for 59.99 ! The guys ID was Jazzman58, he was selling a few of them. I figure that's about half price. I'll let you all know how it works out.

I finally got some warm weather here in CT and I got the keypad installed on my 2000 F150. I got all the wax off with the alcohol wipe it came with. I drew a line using one my kids crayons and a level. Installation was easy and i set my own code with even more ease ( thanks to the fine folks at this website ).

Someone had been concerned about how well it would stick to the truck. I have little doubt that the adhesive is on steroids as it stuck instantly and with great strength. I feel much better having it installed as my children are little and I am constantly running from one side of the truck to the other with one of them in a carseat to the rear.

I will post a pic if anyone would like to see it.

I also just installed the Ford keypad on our 2003 F-150 4X4 SuperCab.
After reading the instructions under this thread plus what came with the keypad, installation was easy. I did have to include both of my remotes in the programming. The key remotes didn't function after I set the keypad. We just programmed them again with no problems.
We got ours for $75.00 from this Ebay link:

Thanks,
Mike
