How difficult is it to install a stock reverse camera into an f150 that did not originally come equiped with the camera or wiring?

It is not that hard to install, but there is only one company I know of that sells a kit with the custom harness to retrofit a true OEM camera into a truck (www.4dtech.com). Looks like you can get it with an RCA end which should be what you need for an aftermarket head unit.

I purchased one of the brand motion OEM style cameras and immediately sent it back. What a piece of junk - ended up going OEM.

The issue is the main body harnesses would need to be swapped with the versions containing the video signal for a completely factory installation. I was lucky as my 08 was partially pre-wired (only ones I'm aware that had the chance of being pre-wired. I still had to replace several harnesses in the rear of the truck and create a custom harness inside the cab as the wiring ended in the floor. The harnesses were not cheap.

Looks like you have an 07 XLT as well. That is exactly the truck that this was installed on. I am beyond happy with my purchase it is very cost effective and the performance is superb.

Just go with the adjustable one right off the bat and spend the extra 30 bucks I think it is.

Have a read you will certainly want to consider tailgatecamera.com
