Factory Backup Camera

Hey all,

I have a 2011 F150 that did not come with the factory back up camera..

Currently I have an aftermarket backup camera that mounts to the license plate, and displays on my Kenwood Nav system.

I would like to install a Factory Backup camera that is built into the Ford Logo on the tail gate.

I've seen the camera's on ebay, but my question is, does the truck already have the factory wiring in the tail gate to plug the camera into?

I've read that the factory wiring runs up to a socket in the drivers side foot well, which I could tap and run the RCA to my Head Unit.

But I didn't know if that was only on factory installed camera's, or if every truck had the wiring already installed?

I've seen the wiring to be able to tap right off the harness from the back of the camera, I was just hoping if every truck is wired from the factory I can just tap into the wiring under the dash instead of at the back of the truck..

Thanks,

-TheChad

Being an XLT, I highly doubt it.
