Metra Axxess ASWC anyone familiar with...steering wheel control interface

Just hooked up a new Clarion CX501 double din on my 04 Lariat. Of course the steering wheel controls don't work now. I ordered a Metra Access ASWC steering wheel interface to correct that. Has anyone ever installed one here. Pretty easy?

Here is the kit:

Amazon Amazon

And here are the instructions for my truck. The only part I'm a little unsure of is number 4. Says connect pin 19 of vehicle harness to Ground....

Some help would be great

Yeah not sure why they are having you ground pin 19 in the factory harness. I just installed a JVC and used the idatalink maestro sw to retain steering wheel controls. The nice thing about that unit is you program it onlie, and you can assine the steering wheel butons any way you want and can even add a couple things, so when you hold down a button it does another function. Like when I hold down my volume down button it mutes the radio.

You can just do it from the harness side

Bump on this thread.

From what I am reading the aftermarket harness does not come with anything in PIN 18 and 19. Do wires need to be added to these locations? Or should splices be made to the factory harness?
