I picked up a Seagate 500gb ultra-portable hard drive the other day because it's the same price as a 32gb flash drive. I think it's so small and light that it's just a wired flash drive.

Can someone tell me if the usb jack is powered all the time like the power plug, or does it shut down with the rest of the media/windows when the door opens. I really don't want this thing to be powered all the time. I would expect that it shuts down.
