Got an aftermarket HU. Installed it and it wont power on, but when I hit the reset button it clocks a couple times and the red LED light on the CD slot lights up for a couple seconds and then nothing. Any ideas?

Besides the obvious possibility it may be a dead unit, they salesperson stressed it had to be a canBUS compatible vehicle... don't all 2007 F-150's with the OEM nav unit have canBUS? How might this affect whats happening or not?

 

In my 2010 I know there was no switched power lead and got a wire harness that brings in a switched power at the unit instead of running from somewhere else.

Other than that I have no clue.
