A/C-Radio Bezel Question

Hi guys. I just have a quick question. My local stereo installer wouldnt install my double din in my 1997 f150 supercab because he didnt want to cut into the bezel, even after telling him it was ok. I decided to do it myself so went to the junk yard and got one for 5.00 to practice on. As I figured, was a simple 10 minute cut. My question is the bezel on my truck has a " 1 " on it and the one I got and cut to replace this one to fit the dvd player has a " 2 " on it. What is the difference ? Maybe single cab vs extended cab. Just curious. Will find out in the morning but thought maybe someone would know up front. Anyway, thanks

I have a similar question and now problem. I just had a new Sony XNV 770BT installed in my 2006 Lariat Supper Crew. Love the features, Satelite, DVD, IPOD, Navigation, back up camera etc. The problem is it doesn't fit flush in my dash. It sticks out about 3/8 of an inch. I picked the vehicle at night after the install and really didn't notice it until I got home. My installer agreed to take another look at it but said he used all the recommended parts for my dash.

Could it be the bezel or something else?

When I used my Scoche install kit the brackets that attached to the HU had slots so I could slide them forward or backwards about a 1/2 in. This way I was able to flush it to the bezel.
