General 2007 Navigation unit questions, please help

General 2007 Navigation unit questions, please help
I am buying a 2007 f-150 Lariat with nav unit that I was all excited about, but reading alot of issues in these threads.
If unaltered, what can this unit do, or not do... can you watch dvds at all? O r just not while driving or not at all?
Navigation update, can you borrow a cd to do this or have to actually own it? Is it easy on this version to DL it with a computer?
It doesnt look like there are any aux inputs, either USB or the one small hole type, how do you input anything to these or can you simply not?
These seem to sell high on ebay (like $600) is that accurate and if so why wouldnt you just sell yours and buy a nice brand new updated Head unit capable of so much more (DVD playing, nav address input while driving, etc. etc.)
If an aftermarket is the way to go, any brands ot models to stay away from, or conversely any ones that are exceptionally good?
