I have an 09 f-150 with sync and was wondering if I could install a 10 or 11 sync in it. I like what the new sync can do and want it.

If there are no hardware dependencies then One could assume any software upgrades to do what you wanted would be possible, if said upgrades were available.

one big one i like is entering an address. i have to go thru the command prompts ie. city, street, address. on my brothers new edge all he has to say is the complete address like 1000 union street san francisco. and it comes up. or they have an app on iphone to wirelessly put in an address from your phone to the truck. wish there was a software update that would be great. so much has changed in one year

What you'll want to do is go onto your sync account and follow their directions to figuring out which version of sync you actually have. Once you do that then you'll be able to figure out if you can get the new features that are offered on the 2010/2011. I believe it is free if the 09 version supports it but I'm not 100% sure.

well thanks for the replies but i can't figure it out. on the site it says that the 09 can't be upgraded for directions traffic and information. but i all ready have all that on mine. can't understand why this is so hard. crazy should be a software or firmware upgrade
