Aftermarket nav questions

So I picked up my 2010 FX4 yesterday. I have the Sony Stereo.

Wife says: "No nav?"
I said: "$3K option."
Wife says: "Oh. BMW didn't even charge that much."
I said: "I know!"

But, after 1 day, the truck feels like something is missing as our other 2 vehicles have factory nav.

Looking at all the F150 forums, I have yet to see a Factory nav retrofit thread.

I guess Aftermarket is the only option.

I have Sync. I also have the backup cam. I know there is a sync harness to retain it, but most Aftermarket nav systems have all the same features.

What I am wondering is whether you can use the factory mic (mine is in the headliner, not the mirror) and the factory backup camera feed with an Aftermarket nav system. Has anyone done this yet? I have done searches and haven't really come up with anything.

Ive never seen a work around for the mic although im sure it could be done. I think there are a few on here that have done the back up cam mod.

Here is how I tapped into the factory camera for my after-market nav. See post #6

Yea, I was bout to say. I designed how to do the back up cam mod a few years back. But the mic wouldnt be hard. All you would have to do is locate the mic and figure out which is the hot v ground (should only be two wires) and wire that into a plug suitable for your choice of Nav System.
