Ipod use with sync?

Anyone get an Ipod shuffle to connect to sync? Have 2009 Ford F150, and want to hook ipod shuffle to it. what cable do I need to buy? I have navigation with sync.

I read that one can't control shuffle using sync, but can use the controls on the ipod shuffle.

Will an Ipod nano work better?

The least expensive and easiest option is a cheap flash drive.

got that and it works for some songs, but most of my songs are bought from Itunes and won't work without an ipod.

Burn your MP4 (protected) songs to an audio CD (in iTunes) and then rip them back to MP3s.

Or spend the extra $.30 (as I recall) per song and get them converted to iTunes+ (M4A - unprotected).

how do I choose the extra .30 cents for unprotected? I click buy and it doesn't give any choice?

You really should check with Apple. I converted all my M4Ps to M4As over a year ago.

I get most of my music (MP3s) from Amazon now.

Yes, have already read that. As stated below, the controls on ipod shuffle don't work while plugged in. Unless I have the wrong cable. Anyone know what cable I need specifically? I bought a audio cable that connect to the Aux line.

I read I could buy the cable needed at radio shack, which is what I did.
