Kenwood dnx 5140 vs 7140
Kenwood dnx 5140 vs 7140
Do the DNX 5140 and 7140 have the same navigation functions? If not what is the difference between the navigation functions? I have compared the head units online and only difference I saw is the 7140 had central america and hawaii.
The 7140 is quite a step up from the 5140/6140 units. It gives you a larger 7" screen, built in bluetooth as well as three sets of rca outputs (front, rear and subwoofer) They carried over the DSP (Digital Sound Processor) which before could only be found in the Excelon units. This unit has a rear composite video input with left and right rca audio inputs versus the other units front A/V input. The 7140 also gives you two relay outputs. These outputs can be labeled on the radio and used to turn things on such as video sources, fog lamps, under car lighting. I've used them for all kinds of things. Right now mine are labeled "Wife Mute" and "Baby Stop Crying!". Sadly I can't get these to work quite right....lol.
Thanks for the reply
Do all 3 of these headunits have the same mapping data for the United States?
I do not need all those extra inputs and outputs. I have a basic amp sub set up and the 5140 would work fine for that. I also do not use bluetooth so the 6140 would be no help to me.
