Satelite Radio

I have a factory nav that is sirrus ready. Is is just as simple as purchasing the sat antena and plugging it into the head unit. Obviously I need a subscription.

I assume you mean that you have a factory sat radio you are planning on installing in your truck.

If so, the answer is yes, you need the antenna. I did this on my last truck. And when you call Sirius, you might even have some free time left.

Yes, the antennas are universal. Just go to Best Buy and get a replacement antenna for any satellite radio and it will work. Most people are mounting the antenna under the front dash, some are on top of the dash.

Yes, aftermarket antennas will plug in and work. The antenna plug is the same.

Satellite Radio

All right I must be missing something. I took the radio out and beside the 3 harnessess that plug in there is an antenna plug and a pink plug for the gps. I bought a sirius antenna at best buy but there is no place to plug it in. The head unit has the option for satellite radio. What am I missing? Do I need a ford product or does the antenna plug in somewhere else?

Isnt the sat receiver a separate module from the head unit?

The satellite tuners are not built into the radio. They are a separate unit that mounts under the radio.

Or look on eBay -- there should be several of them there. The classifieds here probably have them also.
