Greetings!!
Greetings!!
First of all let me introduce myself. My name is louie I just bought my first Ford truck. I bought an 2005 F-150 FX4 4-door. I also have a Hummer H2 and a 09 Toyota Camry. Well its been a long time since I have installed an aftermarket HU and can't decide which one I want, and thats where I need your help. I want a double Din Navigation unit but cant decide which one. Money pretty much is not an obstacle but I really dont want to spend thousands. What can you guys suggest? Thanks in advance.
And there is the question Grasshopper! I've been researching daily for a HU and they all have their good points and some not so good points.
In the what I consider the expensive group I like the JVC KW-NX7000 because it has a removable faceplate. On the other hand I really like the Kenwood Excelon DNX8120 because it has Garmin navigation and built in bluetooth so one less "adapter" to buy. Then again the Pioneer AVIC Z3 has a boat load of built in features including a 30GB hard drive & voice commands! But all 3 of these are in the grand price range and if you want to bring your costs down the options for the lower level units, at least to me, seem pretty much the same other than the nav software being used and voice commands on the Pioneer. I'd recommend going to youtube and searching various models, you'll find lots of videos on a variety of models to see exactly what each looks like in use and features. For me from watching the videos I really like the lower price Pioneer's for voice command but I don't need the IPOD control they all seem to be so in love with. I'm a Creative guy and always will be! Luckly, they all seem to have USB connection so that works for my Zen just not quite as pretty as the IPOD controls look! If I end up with a lower priced model I'm leaning toward the Pioneer, AVIC-F900BT or F90BT model each in the mid $500 range.

I really like the Kenwood Excelon DNX8120 unit also as well as the Pioneer AVIC Z3. Back in the day I was a really big car audio fan and pretty much had all the brands and the one that I like the best would have to be Kenwood then Pioneer then prob Alpine (way overpriced). I see a lot of people going with the lower priced Pioneer, I guess I just have to see it in person to see how I like it.
I like the Kenwoods as well but the lower priced units they offer don't have built in BT like the Pioneer models do.
Funny I just was at Best Buy at lunch doing the same thing checking out the models they had on display for the same reasons. Of course, still confused! They all appeared to work great...in the store!
I wish I could see an Eclipse AVN6620 in person, it looks like a contender as well, but the nav looks suspect.
