Time to make a decision...

I just missed out on a 2009 factory Nav unit (still have no idea if it would have worked in my '05), but I'd like to get a new HU in the next week. Choices are:

Kenwood dnx 7120 for $750.00 (refurb).
Kenwood dnx 5120 for $375.00 (refurb).

or..

Any of the numerous factory Nav units on ebay ranging from $500 for the older CD units to $1000 for the newer DVD models.

I've searched and read the pros and cons of all of the above, but I've found little on the difficulty of installation on the aftermarket Nav units. I've installed numerous single din basic style cd HU's in cars, and I've recently installed the Saleen Rockford subwoofer in my '05 f150...so I have some familiarity with this stuff.

However, I've never installed anything like these, and would like to know how difficult it would be. I live 2 miles from Crutchfield, and they want $200 for installation...not gonna happen. I could, however, buy the unit online and get the crutchfield install cheat sheets.

If it's relatively easy, I'm likely going to try and go the cheap route with the 5120. If its' not, I'll hold out for a factory unit.

Thanks.

Very nice. I ended up going with the 5120. I'm fairly confident the install won't be as bad as I'm imagining. Need to pick up a blue tooth unit and I'm all set. With the amount of business traveling I'm about to be doing, this thing should pay itself off in no time at all.
