Yeah, I have seen the PIE FRD04-DVD, but I can't find any reviews of it in an F150, and the PIE site is woefully inadequate in stating whether it will work or not. To top it off, the cost of the converter, even at the cheapest available online price, is about as much as the value of the audiophile HU.

So while my solution of stuffing the stock HU under the dash is a little ghetto, it does work, and outwardly there's no real difference. LOL, you will here the disk changer cycle through though if you disconnect the battery!

Go aftermarket

I have a 06 F150 screw and have the rail system, I did not want the $1,500 7" RES from Ford. I went all aftermarket and have a 10.5" screen with DVD and Digital TV tuner and a 7" screen in the passenger side front visor. for $900 from a little mom and pop car place. I love it.
