silver OEM navigation?

I want to add the OEM navigation unit to my 07 but can't get my wife to agree to give me the one out of our Explorer. I hate the thought of spending over $1000 and I've seen some out of Mercs and Lincolns that are silver on ebay for cheaper. I know about the re-programming that would be neccesary, I'm just curious if anyone has seen one of these installed in a F150 and if so what the silver looked like versus black.

P.S. If anyone has one to sell let me know!

Silver Navigation

I'll tell you when I get mine installed. I have a silver exterior 2006 Crew w/gray interior. I just bought ($450) a silver finish navigation radio out of a 2007 Lincoln. Probably have to have it reprogrammed. Hope it works!

Definitely let me know what you think. Maybe even take some pics if you get a chance!

silver oem navigation

I installed the silver nav. unit. Looks Ok with my gray dash. A black unit probably would look more integrated. But, the unit I got was out of a Lincoln and has the THX and a bigger amp(I think). It originally drove a 12 speaker system. I hooked up the old unit and listened, then hooked up the new unit. Definitely a great sound difference with the new unit-louder, just sounds better, especially CD's/CDR's, even though I've only got a 4 speaker system. Also plays mp3's, although it has no marking of it on front of unit. MP3's and CD's that are burned with artist & titles show info on screen. Store bought don't seem to. I had it reprogrammed by a guy from Texas. He also set it up so I can add AUX/Line In. I also burned the 7P disc, as a backup. Using the backup works fine in the unit.

If you're looking for OEM navi, I have one to sell since I sold my truck. I bought it from Ebay but never installed it. It is 08 navi with chrome rings around the *****. $600: unit, antenna, and 4P map disc. You'll have to program it since it was out of 08 Expd.

I have a silver unit I would sell you. I can configure the unit for your vehicle once you tell me what options your car has. The system will also come with a 6P map DVD. Let me know if you are interested.

BTW I just instlled one in a 04 F150 and it looks really nice. It actually matches the heat/air vents which are silver as well.
