Brandmotion customer service

My Brandmotion GPS unit was no longer receiving satellite signals. I checked GPS status under diagnostics and saw that all SAT channels had 0 signal to noise. The mistake I made was calling Magellan first because I figured there was a setting that had been changed by my son or other simple thing. Magellan's customer service was pretty painfull and had little understanding of their product. I gave up and called Brandmotion. They new their product well and understood the diagnostic functions of the unit. I gave my name and they called up my record, verified my mailing address and FED-EX'd a new unit with a return sticker to mail the failed unit back. The whole process took 3 days from the late evening call to Brandmotion to receiving the new unit.
I receive many comments on the unit's stock look and although I have nothing else to compare it with, the unit is very easy to use and very accurate.

Thanks for posting this, I have been debating getting one of these. I hear great things about them but I was a little hesistant buying a 3rd Party manufactured GPS, plus I am waiting for the price to come down on the text-to-speech models. Most of the ones on Ebay dont have text-to-speech and the distributors dont know what text-to-speech means. Thats sad.

If anyone doesnt know what text-to-speech is, that is ok if you are not peddling $400 GPS units. Text-to-speech is the feature that Says the street name when you turn. "In 50 feet Turn Right on Main Street" vs. Non Text-to-speech " Turn Right in 50 feet. Doesnt sound like much, but is a huge deal in Urban Areas.

From what I understand the newer ones are, the older ones are not. That is why there is a $75 - $100 difference in the prices on Ebay. Thanks for all the info.
