Factory navigation system ?

Factory navigation system ?

I just installed a factory navigation for my 08 and had a few questiones. First the map system will I have to put the DVD in everytime I whant to use it or does it install in the radio. Second what's the best way to keep the screen clean and wipeing off greasy finger prints. Oh have not had a chance to play with the map because I'm at work so just asking abought the disk before hand,thanks

There are actually two disc slots in the unit. You can only see the cd slot when the faceplate is in the upright position. The dvd/navigation disc slot is behind the faceplate. To access that slot,push these buttons in sequence.

->MENU
->System Info
->Access Navigation DVD
->Open

After you load the navigation dvd, it will take a few minutes to initialize and then you will be good to go. Just leave that disc in there all the time.

works great but do you allways have to touch the button that says agree to terms to use it ?

Yeah, dude. Liability lies with you once you agree with the terms. Ford is free from navigation system lawsuits. People screw around with the nav system while driving and wreck. As far as keeping the display print free, I use a clean, dry microfiber towel. Just lightly wipe and the fingerprints disappear. - Og

all nav units(not sure about portable) do this as a liabilty exclusion. my eclipse does it too. it is a pita, but i see the point.

Fingerprints

The best way I found to clean off greasy fingerprints is scotch tape. One of the camera shop guys showed me this trick when I purchased a camera years ago.
