2009 F150 - OEM nav - Afermarket - Microsoft Sync?
2009 F150 - OEM nav - Afermarket - Microsoft Sync?
I have a 2009 F150 and I'm considering the addition of a OEM or aftermarket in-dash navigation unit. The problem is I can't find a OEM unit for less than $2,800, from the dealer, not including installation
and I've researched allot of aftermarket units but nothing I've found is compatible with Microsoft Sync. So my question is does anyone know where I can get an OEM unit for cheaper than previously mentioned price? or What aftermarket units will work with the Sync voice command system? Also if you have any other thoughts on this they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Once the novelty wears off, the sync system is pretty much a useless gadget. You can get the same features on an aftermarket system and the aftermarket stuff works much better. For example, I have a kenwood in dash dvd, nav system with an optional ipod hookup, the headunit was 8 bills, ipod cable - 30 bucks, optional bluetooth - 150 bucks. For less than a grand you can get a setup that does everything the factory nav w/sync does and it also plays dvd. If you don't need a feature, such as bluetooth, don't buy it, it'll save you some coin. And there is also the pac-swix so your steering wheel controls will still work.
