Phone button on 08 screw

Phone button on 08 screw

so i just got my 08 screw yesterday and i have the nav HU and when i click the "PHONE" button nothing happens.

i searched around and some people said it muted their radio and some said it said "NO PHONE"


well i was expecting to be like sync or something where i could connect my phone to the HU


can this be done or what

no, not unless you buy the unit from ford that allows you to connect your phone via bluetooth. Ford calls it "Mobile-ease™" Hands Free System Advanced, it costs $400+ too. So for now it's a worthless button.

It's not worthless. It makes a great MUTE button so you can use your PHONE.

it doesn't mute anything on the NAV unit, just does nothing when your press the button.

Sorry but to see you post that cracked me up. I went through the very same thing. After multilple mashing and reading the owners manual I asked the aftermarket guy when they were installing my radio why it did not work. As stated above you have to buy or add the bluetooth feature. My Acura used to have it and was neat at first. Got sick of it after a while though. Is useless when you don't want other people in your car hearing the whole conversation. I got to the point where I rarely ever used it.

lol yeah thats what im thinking now, its complete BS that ford cant put it in. I was thinking about only using it when im by myself but for $350 or $400 or whatever it is its not worth it. Maybe in the future but that money will go torwards a tuner so i can try and get better MPG
