anyone know some good installers in the Chicago area. I was leaning toward the factory Nav but now I think I'm going to go with the Kenwood DNX7100 with sirius, blue tooth and hd radio tuner. I'm not very good with electrical things so installing myself is not an option.
another thing....does anyone know whats up with the Kenwood HD tuner (KTC-HR100TR), nobody has it in stock. Did Kenwood discontinue it or is it that popular?

I live on the SW side of the city. I found a guy in New Lenox...... "Teds Customs". He said $250 to install the head unit and blue tooth and he is working on locating a siruis tuner for me. He talked to Kenwood and the new HD tuners will be out at the end of February. It shouldnt be too much more to install the sirius & hd tuners. He is $300 cheaper than Music in Motion just on the install. I ended up ordering the DNX7100 from Crutchfield because they are an authorized Kenwood dealer. I got the head unit and blue tooth for $1,400 and they gave me a free back up camera and threw in the install kit.
good for you.i would never recommend music in motion to anyone.not that they do a crappy job...they do excellent job but their price is way off the roof.
for some food and pop..id help you do it since you already have all the parts needed.
i installed my DNX in my expedition all by myself with the back up camera, external harddrive and ipod.its not that hard at all
the hardest part would be running your wire for the back up camera.
if you have the harness already..itll be just plugging the FORD harness to the kit and the kit to your DNX7100.

you're real close to me noob, i'm right next to oak lawn but on the city side. Ted's customs is supposed to be getting me a sirius and an hd tuner when Kenwood releases them in 1.5 to 2 months so i'm waiting until then to get it all installed. If I have any questions i'll give you a shout.
