AVIC-N2 Install Question

Ok I've got my Ford Harness and I'm going wire for wire to the Pioneer power harness and i'm ending up with some strays, on ford end there is a solid blue wire (what do i do with this) and on the harness end i stripped from the Ford harness there is a blue/white wire, what do i do with this. Also, i bought the IPOD wire that was made for pioneer i think the part number starts with CD-IB100 or something like that, but looking my AVIC-N2 there is no where to input this end, am missing something here, if so I'm about 30 bucks out...

you WILL have a few unused ends, solid blue = power antenna blue/white = remote turn on
the CD-IB100 doesn't have a blue slot for it? are there extra harnesses to plug in?? I don't remember off the top of my head :o

Well, I installed the AVIC-N2 and to my dismay it didn't work. Basically the CD player in the unit wasn't operationg correctly, it wouldn't take the CD, I guess the gears were messed up in the thing. So,I bought a brand new AVIC-D3 yesterday and have a couple of questions. I went wire to wire from the METRA Ford Harness to the supplied Pionneer Power Harness and that was a pain in the ***, but worth it. I was looking on Circuit City and there is this part METRA PR0180, which basically says I didn't need to do that, is this true? Also, I bought the Audiophile Wire harness from Metra, and hooked it up to the Sub-Outs on the AVIC-N2 when I had it, and there was nothing coming from the Factory Sub, yea I don't know what the deal is there. And finally, I accounted for two harnesses from the OEM side of the truck but there is one in the middle that has no apparent place of use in the aftermarket system, is this middle harness pertinent to the proper function of my AVIC? BTW, thanks alot DRJ!!

I have an AVIC-N2 for my truck and could take a picture of the harness wiring if you would like - though I may be a little late!

Scosche makes a harness that will allow the factory subwoofer to work with aftermarket units, have you looked in to this?

Its the AVIC-N2 with everything (brain cables), just need to open up the CD player and fix the accepting part, I'm sure it would be really cheap to get fixed, but I don't have the time, as I'm giving this as a gift...I would entertain an offer....I can't PM or E-mail you..I guess I haven't been a member long enough...Let me know ASAP!!

The main harness goes wire to wire easily (with the exceptions of the brown wires). Hook the pink wire to the gray/black on the stock #1 harness.

The second larger harness is an auxillary harness. If you have an 07/08 then do the mod for the auxin. or DVD player. All thats good for.

The third harness is for the Audiophile system. Did you have it in the first place? If so try wiring to 1K ohm resistors in parallel (making a Y). And ground one then run the other to the blue/white.

Blue white = Remote wire
Blue = Power Antenna
Orange = Dimmer
Orange/Black = Neg Dimmer
Orange/White = Illum. (Best to go to parking light switch for)

PIONEER ONLY:
Lt. Grn = Parking Brake
Pink = VSS
Purple/White = Reverse
