Pioneer Avic-d3 navi updates

How do you go about getting updates? New stores and such pop up all the time. Do you download from somewhere and burn on a disc or what?

when they release updates you will have to buy new discs, and they aren't cheap, around $250 or so for the discs. or i suppose you could try and get someone to burn the new discs when they come out. maybe they are already out, i don't know.

Not that I would advocate this (of course) but...........

If you didn't want to give the good people at Pioneer another $200, you COULD go to a torrent site like Mininova or Isohunt and download an image of the DVD, then burn it - this would require a dual-layer burner.

The new DVD is out
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...088320,00.html

Model # is CNDV-70MTP

Unfortunately I cannot find it anywhere online and being from Boston with the BigDig going on, my 2004/5 model DVD is so friggin out of date.

I just cannot see paying $250 for a DVD after spending $1600 on the Nav system.

If anyone has a link online somewhere to download this I would appreciate it.

I tried to do this with mine but the AVIC wouldn't recognize the burned discs (dual layer - tried 2 PCs and Mac, 1x record speed so no errors) .. I could have done something wrong but it seems to me that there's something different with their discs.
