Also the cord for the navigation, can that go under the grille for the windshield wipers and still get good reception? Also is there a spot to update the maps on the navigation or what happens there? I am going to run the wire, so I can watch DVD's and change things in the navigation when I drive.
iPod control is done by using the radio. Keep in mind that Kenwood has one of the fastest iPod controls. The previous models and other manufaturers units were slow before the USB interfaces. Now it works also faster and is less annoying. The connector will also charge your iPod so you can grab it and go.

The navigation antenna is only 2"x2" When I install these in an F150 I just use the supplied 4 inch round metal disk that has glue on the other side of it and stick it to the top of a ac vent under the dash. Works great. Just stick it and the antenna will stick to it with the magnet in the antenna. No need to run it the grille. To bypass the unit just ground the parking break wire.

Another usefull option for your unit is the GMX 30 XM NavTraffic tuner. This will give you up to date traffic info for accidents, lane closures and even traffic speed. Also this unit gives you weather conditions for your city and citys around you as well as the weekly forcast and county warnings like severe weather and tornado warnings. On top of that the unit also gives you stock reports.

Here are some pictures of the navtraffic tuner working.

Here's the TOOLS screen that gives you access to the NavTraffic functions.

You also gain XM RADIO as well

Sorry.... You posted this while I was working on the last answer.

Most any of your monitors now will have 2 video inputs. Just run the video output from your in-dash to the video input 1 and then whatever else you want into video input 2. Keep in mind most add-on DVD players will have an aux input or two on it as well. I kind of prefer to use switchers. That way you could actually run up to four inputs into one monitor and then each monitor can control what hey want to watch. Endless options...just depends what you are looking to do.

The navigation looks like a Garmin interface. Is it?

Sorry started posting about the Garmin interface on this forum and started to post on a different site's forum. Thought I switched to other. Damn vBulletin forums look the same...lol The other site is for video games. They were probably wondering what the hell the Garmin interface has to do with a Playstation 3....lol

Anyways I've had an alpine, pioneer, and valor multimedia nav system in my truck and my wife always bitched about using it. She now drives the truck everyday and I went with a 6019 from Travis (www.kcautosound.com) in it this january and she loves it. No more "I don't know how to work it" don't get me wrong...the others were cool too but the kenwood/garmin keeps it simple and gets you there.

Finally got around to taking some pictures of the DNX7100 for you. Like I said. A sh*t load of ports on the back.

what about other media

Okay please bare with me this is my first post!
I just bought my Fx2 and havent even picked it up yet I have to wait till i get back into the country. GO NAVY Anyway I bought the DNX-7100 because it was only 1,000 plus it had everything in it. I am kinda of worried though because, one of the main reason i bought it was because of the usb port. See although i own an Ipod I would prefer to use my Zune. Has anyone tried this combination. Does it work or not? Would really be sweet if it did.
Thanks

DNX-7100 Trim Kit for '01 F-250

The F150 isn't too bad but some other vehicles will **** you off...lol I put one this weekend into a 2005 Tahoe. Took about 45 minutes to try to work the cables around to fit th radio back in.

You will see that the Sirius and the Bluetooth plug into the same cd changer port. The units have an in and an out din plug. I have found some times that the sirius has to be pluged in first and the bluetooth next or vise versa. Kind of a trial and error thing. Backup camera has it's own video input to plug into. The iPod adapter plugs into the USB port and the iPod input ports. These cords are 3 feet long and allow you to put it in the glove box or in your center console. There are also front, rear, and subwoofer RCA's and a set of video input and also video output RCA's asl well. Add the antenna input to it as well and that adds up to a sh*t load of cables...lol Have fun!

I have 4 DNX7100s coming in that I am installing next week. I have plans tomarrow of taking about 40 pictures of the unit working and what it looks like. I'll post a picture for you all to see the back of it.
KC - What trim kit did you use for the Excursion? I have an '01 F-250 that I am planning on putting the DDX-7019 or DNX-7100 in to replace the factory 6-disc changer. Thx!
