Factory Nav - ipod question
Factory Nav - ipod question
I have a 2007 F-150 on order, should deliver any week now, and wanted to know if there was any special cord I needed to attach my ipod to the navigation system? I have to drive 3 hours to get the truck and back and wanted to be prepared to play my ipod since the Sirius will not be operational just yet.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Well, first off all, Sirius should be working, it was working in my truck immediately and honestly I didn't even know I had it. You just need a 1/8th inch phono plug to get the Ipod into the radio...
I use this and it works fine...

iPod Cord at WalMart
I just got my 07 KR with aux jack. BTW the Sirius is cranking! But I got my cord at WalMart tonight and it works great. Read the users manual for hooking it up the first time (in the owners manual).
Anyway, the cord is a Belkin 6' 3.5mm x 3.5mm. One end hooks into the aux input and one end hooks into your iPod headphone jack. With this cable, you can hold the iPod as a remote and work the sound, songs, etc. all from your iPod wheel.
The cord cost $4.99 at WalMart.

I drilled a small hole in my dash and glued on one of those SUPER STRONG magnets (neodynium?) sticks like nobody's business.
I sure wish the ford iPod connector worked with the factory nav... Maybe some day.
