Question Question for Those With FORD Nav

Mine has a problem. With the dash dimmer on high all is fine. If I dim the dash lights, the nav screen and button lights flicker constantly. If I dim half way and cut the headlights off then on, the nav lights will not come back on and the unit stays in the daylight mode. Dash lighting remains constant. If anyone would check theirs and report back, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I tried all your combinations and I had no issues with mine. I dimmed the lights and had no flickering. Then I dimmed it half way and turned the lights off and then back on and everything was still working. Sounds like you have something going on in there. If you have your original stereo, stick it in and see if you have the same issue. That way you can rule out the Nav unit if it still does the same thing. If it does not do it, then you know it is the Nav unit causing the issues.

RACIN,

This is the first NAV unit I have used since the old Clarion Auto PC and it is cool. I have heard there are aftermarket ones are better, but for a Stock unit I like it. The MP3 functions are cool, Sirius Functions are cool, and the Nav part is cool. My only gripe is that NAVTEQs info is a little dated. I have the latest release and it still does not have some pretty major new roads (New within the last 2 yrs). That is my only complaint, oh and I which it had 3D modes, I have seen that in others and it is pretty neat.

Thanks for the help! I was wondering if it was just mine. I usually keep the dash lights on high but the nave was giving me a little too much back light, even with it adjusted down on the unit. Thats whan I found out the lights were flickering. The display does it also. Just my luck
Nothingbutaford can you help?
X2 on the comments on the nav. BTW

I just noticed that mine is doing the exact same thing. No real issue for me though since I never put the dimmer anywhere but full blast anyway....

Just checked. FWIW, My '07 (Job 2) navigation does not have this problem.
