Harman Kardon Drive and Play Install

I am going to be installing the Harman Kardon Drive and Play, along with the PIE Interface, that I just purchased. I have a firm grasp on the install, but I do have one question. I would like to wire both the D&P and the PIE to a switched 12 volt source. I believe most guys simply hook theirs up to the 12V port that is located right next to and/or underneath the factory radio. However, as we know these power connections remain on at all times. This means that the D&P remains powered up for 1 hour, before turning off, and the PIE maintains constant power. Both of these units will work properly with a switched 12v source. What should I use for a good switched 12v source? Thanks.

From: Colora, MD.
you can use the switched power from behind the radio.

Do you mean the actual power wire from the head unit itself? I know this seems simple, but there must be some reason that most people shy away from it. Is this wire contained in a tightly wrapped harness, with hard access or something? What is the color code for Fords power wire? Red, I ASSume would be the one I am looking for? Thanks.

I haven't heard of anyone NOT wanting to use the green/yellow wire that is the switched power for the head unit. It's easy to get to.
