Hey Zairmann, did you get the wiring issue resolved ? it looks like i overlooked a detail...when i step on the brake the camera signal goes out (or maybe gets TOO much juice) using the 4 pin on the left of the tow package wiring. Oh well, i'll have to tinker with it this weekend. I'd like to be able to turn it on with just the light switch so i don't need to run any extra wires. Which pins are you using on the round connector? thanks
ribbie..did you get your camera fixed? If not, the easiest fix I found is to add a relay. I had the same problem with mine. Got a $2 relay from Radio Hack and it works great.

This is what I used for my camera install and I can turn the cam on whenever the truck is running.

As an aside, my head unit displays the cam video when the truck is started, and it's saved my butt a few times as it prevented me from pulling away with the tailgate down.

Good luck!
I do have a tow package, will have to check this out. Thanks for the reply. Any other sources, dont know if someone has electrical plans for an f150 im sure that would help

You can run the power up from the driver side carpet grommot...then you can run up the rocker panel to the radio switched power source.

That is what I did on my F150 3 weeks before I sold it for a F250...now I have to do it all over again.

Here is the camera. It's not scratched, just dirty.

Here is the route I took with my wires.
Like Fabian06SC said I used the plug hole in the passenger floor board.
I ran my wires through the frame. The camera works from the iginition, The monitor has a on/off switch or with the reverse lights. The unit has two inputs for another camera. I just haven't figured where to put a second one yet.

Here is a view from the back seat.

if i want something like that what am i looking at price wise

the fuse does not switch on and off power when you put the truck in reverse. it only supplies the power to the main circuit. the reverse wire for your truck is black with a pink stripe in the drivers kick panel in a grey 13 pin plug. tap that wire and itll work. but always double check with a multimeter.

Hello there! I have a 2008 Lariat and I just bought a reaview camera and mirror display from a guy on Ebay. It's an OEM unit and I got it for a good price. I'm just asking around to get some ideas on the best way to install it. Looking under the truck, I see there's no place to plug in the OEM camera. It's one that is mounted on the tailgate logo. So, should I look to purchase a wire harness for the length of the truck? Or, can I power it from the tow plug power and run camera only wires? Any ideas? I found a wire harness number Ford Part 1L2Z-14334-VA on the internet but I'm not sure yet what exactly it is. Any help is appreciated.

Well i see there are several ways to get this done. here's what I did. I got an RCA pair with a remote turnon lead. I removed one of the RCA's leaving 1 long RCA with a remote turn on lead. I grounded the camara to the licence plate lamp ground. I ran the RCA up to the cab along the frame rail and entered the cab through a grommet under the driver's left knee. I mounted the camara in the plastic to the left of the licence plate where a backup range sensor would normally go. I wired the remote turn on lead to acc on (+). Then connected the RCA to the backup camara input on my Avic-D3. Works good, although the Vegas heat is hard on the camera.

Can you post a diagram on what you did? I installed a OEM logo camera from a 09 onto my 97 F250. I am using a AVIC-F90BT unit. Thanks

What are you searching, or who are you searching on ebay, every time I look for the OEM camera on ebay, none show up. I need some new keywords I guess. Help?
