Finshed My Eclipse W/Camera Install

Well, I finshed installing my Eclipse Nav W/Camera this weekend...
Came out GREAT, Eclipse Audio Rocks

Ran the GPS sensor out the third brake light and placed it centered on roof behind the light...

Mounted the camera on top of the bumper centered between the bumper and gate, gate clears by a shy 1/8 opening and closing.....

Now I need a sub....

That looks VERY GOOD. No problems with the camera location and bed raising/lowering?

What's the main differences between the 5500 (50D) and the 5435?

Rp, it clears the gate by a shy 1/8" and give full view, also can see the receiver hitch when its in.....

Avn50d is the same unit as Avn5500 but without the ESN, I think the main differance between avn5435 and avn5500 would be the new street level graphics.. it will zoom down to 150' street level... real nice....in fact the first pic is 300' level on my street....

now I just need to wash the beast........

Where can you get the 50D at? I've not seen one anywhere yet. What advantages/disadvantages do you get without having the ESN?

Is the 50D iPOD control capable like the 5500 is with the adapter? Also does it work with the adapter to use the steering wheel controls?

Thanks,
mikebaby

The 50d would be what you would get if you purchased the nav with the truck and had it dealer installed. The avn5500 is the model you would get if you purchased it directly from an eclipse retailer. Virtually the same product. F150truckin Looks good

Looks great dude. What kind of adapter is required for the install, and where did you get yours? I'm looking at an Eclipse 5435 right now, trying to decide if I can really afford it . . .

I like the looks of the 50D better without the silver parts of the case. Do you know of a source I could get one from?

Thanks,
mikebaby

Is that just two sided tape you are using to hold that on the bumper?

If so, the weather and vibration could break it loose.

Yea, I'm going to keep a eye on it, i've got a wire holder just on the backside of bumper... if it does come loose, it can only move 3/4 " .....thats what it mounts with, 3M tape from eclipse...
no holes in bracket for screws....
If I see a problem, i'll take the gate off and fire a screw in it...

Where did you bring your wire into the truck? Pulling power off of the reversing power to the light in the tail lamp?

Just curious on how it's wired...

On the eclipse the bec105 camera plugs directly into the back of an avn radio. When you wire the avn be sure to connect the reverse wire thats what turns on the camera automatically, or you can hit the info button and select the camera manually. Almost makes you sick when driving and seeing everything on the screen going backwards lol.
