in dash monitor problem?

I just installed an in dash monitor. When watching a dvd or tv it runs perfectly for about a half hour then begins to have problems. The monitor begins to get light lines thru it and progressively gets worse and develops a static sound. If I turn it off for a while and then back on it will go for about a half hour and then do the same thing again. Sorry for the lack of a better description. I am in the process of trying to return it but you all know how that can go. Obviously to me it seems like a heat issue but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I figured out that if I turn the truck off the interference goes away and the monitor looks as good as the first 30 minutes or so when the truck is running. My question is why would it play fine for the first 30 minutes then start getting interference? Thank you for any assistance.

Check your ground, and make sure the ventilation is good in the back so it isn't overheating. Also, if you have tapped the radio power or ground wires for another function, like bypassing hte e-brake safety feature, move that wire elsewhere. Sometimes, tapping into the main power or ground will give interference.
