New Factory DVD Nav for 2006

http://wardsauto.com/ar/auto_fords_c...trio/index.htm

Looks like six models that use the 2004+ F150 style HU are getting DVD nav system as an option from Ford.

Ford Motor Co. will offer a new navigation system on a variety of products in the ’06 model year, including the Chicago-built Ford Freestyle cross/utility vehicle and Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sedans, Ward’s has learned.

Ford confirms the navigation system will be installed in six new domestic Ford products in ’06, including the entry-luxury Lincoln Zephyr sedan, and the Explorer and Mercury Mountaineer SUVs. Ford says the Pioneer Corp. system breaks new ground by incorporating names of streets into its audible turn-by-turn instructions.

The auto maker declines to confirm the specific applications beyond use in the Zephyr and Mountaineer.

However, dealer order guides obtained by Ward’s, indicate the auto maker will offer the new DVD-based unit on Limited-trim versions of the value-minded Freestyle and Five Hundred. The price of the option is not available, but indications are Ford is expecting a 20% take rate.
If it's going in the 500 & Freestyle, then it should fit in 2004+ F150s. The article goes on to suggest future applications in the Lincoln MarkLT & F150.

No word on timelines.
