Unfortunately there is not voice recognition, since there is not microphone input into the unit. There is an extensive list of POIs (Points of Interests). If you wanted to go find a list of nearest Pizza joints in your current location. You could pull that off of the internal HD and get directions in a matter of seconds. The neat thing about the restaurants category, is if you are feeling for a certain kind of food, you can look under whatever category of food you may be craving, such as Japanese, Chinese, Mexican, Italian, etc. and it'll list all the restaurants closest to your present location.

 

So i had the 5435 and waited for the 5495 to come in. i got it last night and figured out it isn't Sirius ready!! i should of done my homework. Does anyone know if they plan to put out a Sirius unit for the 5495? I emailed eclipse and am waiting to here back from them

 

It's my understanding that they are going to come out with a firmware update for the sirius portion of the avn5495.

 

Ok. does anyone know how i would hook up my old siruis tuner to the 5495 until they come out with this firmware date?

 

Aux input? I don't know if it has it or not though. Fm modulation, or check ebay for some hacked cd changer aux input to rca cables.
